Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP)

 

 

There are programs to help home buyers with closing help, down payments and more.  See if you qualify for HPAP 

Be prepared for your HPAP application by having the following:

  1. Signed application
  2. Two most recent pay stubs for all parties who will be on the loan.
  3. Last 30 days bank statements. If you have more than 1 account, all bank accounts and pages mut be included.
  4. Most current 2-Years federal tax returns
  5. Most current 2-Years W-2
  6. Most current 2-Years DC tax returns
  7. Credit report done within 3 months of application
  8. Proof of rental payments made on time, called a VOR (verification of rent) form
  9. Executed lease within DC
  10. Statement of Authenticity of All Tax Returns
  11. Award letters for additional income if this applies to any parties on the mortgage application
  12. Driver's license or identification card copies
  13. Divorce decree, and if it applies, 3 child support pay stubs & court order
  14. If you're obtaining a gift for funds, have gift letter (notarized) & 2 recent bank statements from party providing you the gift money
  15. If Self-Employed, 3yrs federal tax returns, Current YTD P&L
  16. First Right Notice from landlord
  17. Letter explaining any employment lapses
  18. Birth certificates for all dependents (If you have any)
  19. Written explanation of any credit problems
  20. Ratified Sales Contract (If you already made an offer and it was accepted)
  21. Signed Authorization to Release Information to Non-Profit Developers
  22. Signed Authorization to Release Information for Applicants
